The Grand Island Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (GISAPC) was founded in 2003 and has met regularly since that time, striving to build a community wide prevention system that includes like minded organizations, individuals and businesses to address youth substance use issues.

 

We Partner with agencies to help change attitudes and raise awareness of the dangers of substance abuse, with a focus on preventing underage alcohol use and binge drinking among youth.

The Central Nebraska Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and affiliate of Facing Addiction with NCADD. This organization, its programs, activities and services are supported in whole, or in part by Grant # 93.959 under the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant and Grant # 5H79TI080263-02 under Nebraska’s Targeted Response to the Opioid Project from the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Tobacco Free Nebraska Program, and the CHI Mission and Ministry grant. Additional financial support is provided by Hall County, Heartland United Way, and tax-deductible donations.
